一支超过20年历史，屡获众奖的加拿大凯尔特民谣家族乐队，早在20世纪70年代，Rankin家族的12个孩子们就开始一起演唱，组织家庭演出聚会，当大的孩子开始上大学离开家时，小的孩子就接上。到1989年，其中以Jimmy为首的五兄妹正式组团了The Rankin Family，并发布了第一张同名首作。20年来，这支家族乐队先后获得了6次朱诺奖，15个东海岸音乐奖，3次加拿大乡村音乐奖和4次SOCAN奖等殊荣，也先后出了近10张录音室专辑。2000年，其中的一个兄弟John Morris死于车祸，乐队剩下了四个成员。
