For the last three years, Mono have been toiling. They’ve been crafting a new release titled Hymn to the Immortal Wind, and are finally ready to let the wind blow. They’ll release the album on March 24 in North America via Temporary Residence Limited , and on Conspiracy Records in Europe on the same date. See a full list below for all worldwide release dates.

“Now we can officially announce the release of our 5th album, Hymn to the Immortal Wind. It has been 3 years since the release of our last album and we are truly grateful to still be able to create our music today. Being together as a band for 10 years has brought forth some changes and has hopefully allowed us to grow. We have created a special site to give you a preview of what to expect from Hymn To The immortal Wind,” reads an announcement on their web site.

The album was recorded and mixed by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio Recording Studios in Chicago last year, and mastered by John Golden in December. It features a full 28 piece chamber orchestra, you know, to achieve that full Mono sound. They’ll be in New York to play a 10th anniversary show on May 8th (backed by a 23-piece orchestra conducted by Jeff Milarsky) as part of the Wordless Music Series. Other tour dates are below.

Based on the advance version of the song Ashes, the album is a full return to all of the big sounds that we’ve come to know from Mono. These guys don’t mess around, it’s always a full delivery above and beyond the call of duty. Listen to the song (link below) and decide for yourself.
